C. P. Cavafy’s Alexandria is an interactive map application that highlights the poet’s enduring connection to the city that shaped his life and work. As a subcontractor to Indigital, the design concept was created to transform 29 key landmarks, from cultural gathering places and family residences to significant sites of inspiration, into a coherent digital narrative supported by archival photographs, postcards, and historical documentation. The platform invites users to navigate Alexandria’s multicultural fabric, compare historical and contemporary cityscapes, and explore Cavafy’s personal and literary journey through an elegant, user-friendly interface. By combining storytelling with interactive mapping, the project makes Cavafy’s world accessible to a wide audience, offering a rich and immersive cultural experience.
