Mary Reid Kelley & Patrick Kelley. The Rape of Europa marks the first presentation in Greece of the artists’ irreverent, witty, and satirical film work, shown as part of EMST’s What If Women Ruled the World? Cycle. The visual identity and design concept were developed to match the artists’ blend of painting, poetry, caricature, and satire while giving Europa voice and agency through contemporary feminist commentary. The design integrated typographic elements that echo the film?s theatrical and language-rich performance style.
