Exhibition Identity and Design

The permanent exhibition of the Sotiria Museum, housed in the historic “Military Pavilion” of the General Hospital for Chest Diseases of Athens, narrates over a century of medical, social, and cultural history related to tuberculosis and public health in Greece. The exhibition identity and design were developed with respect to the architectural character of the preserved building and the human-centered stories embedded in its history. The design sought to create a calm, clear, and cohesive environment, balancing the display of medical equipment, archival material, and personal artifacts with interpretive graphics and wayfinding. Through a structured environmental design and a unified visual language, the exhibition frames the evolution of medical science alongside the lived experiences of patients and healthcare workers, making the museum both a site of remembrance and a space of learning.
