Penny Siopis. For Dear Life. A Retrospective

The accompanying publication for For Dear Life. A Retrospective was designed to extend the exhibition’s exploration of Penny Siopis’ oeuvre into a lasting reference. The design concept underscored the dialogue between image and text, balancing scholarly essays, archival material, and reproductions of works to mirror the artist’s layered and process-based approach. Typography, layout, and visual sequencing were carefully considered to ensure readability and accessibility while conveying the richness and nuance of Siopis’ artistic journey. In addition to design, printing production coordination oversaw image quality, paper selection, color accuracy, and finishing, ensuring the catalogue achieved both scholarly rigor and material refinement.

Mark Hadjipateras. Homeward

The artist’s monograph Mark Hadjipateras | Homeward, published by Melissa Publishing House in collaboration with a.antonopoulou.art, was designed to present a comprehensive overview of Hadjipateras prolific career. Tracing his artistic production from the 1970s to the present, the catalogue highlights the diversity of his practice, encompassing painting, sculpture, monotypes, drawings, ceramics, and three-dimensional collages. The design concept emphasized clarity, rhythm, and coherence, creating a visual structure capable of uniting such varied media into a single narrative. Careful sequencing, typography, and image placement were employed to balance scholarly essays with high-quality reproductions, ensuring both accessibility for readers and fidelity to the artist’s vision. Presented at the London Book Fair 2024, the publication not only serves as an authoritative reference but also underscores the international recognition of Hadjipateras’ work, capturing the richness and interconnectedness of his artistic journey.

Portals catalogue

Catalogue design and production for NEON’s ambitious project, the transformation of the former Public Tobacco Factory, an iconic interwar building in the heart of Athens, into a new 6,500 square-metre cultural space. Founded by NEON and organized in collaboration with the Hellenic Parliament, the project commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence as well as living through the pandemic. Inaugurating the new space, Portals is an international group exhibition curated by NEON’s Director Elina Kountouri and Pritzker Director of Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago Madeleine Grynsztejn that brings together 59 artists from 27 countries whose diverse cultural backgrounds offer a plurality of ideas underpinned by a shared aspiration to create a portal into a new, more humane and inclusive reality. Dream on catalogue

Catalogue design and production for NEON’s exhibition Dream on at the former Public Tobacco Factory. The contemporary art exhibition that celebrates art in the public space is a collaboration with the Hellenic Parliament. Curated by Dimitris Paleocrassas, Art historian and consultant of the D.Daskalopoulos Collection, Dream On brings together large-scale installations from the D.Daskalopoulos Collection by Greek and international artists, as well as a newly commissioned work. The exhibition followed the announcement of the D.Daskalopoulos Collection Gift, presenting some of the most important works of the Collection which will then be donated to 4 museums in 3 countries over 2 continents (EMST, Tate, and jointly to the Guggenheim and MCA Chicago). This is the first time that a crucial mass of the large-scale works of the D.Daskalopoulos Collection will be exhibited in Greece, gathered in the open, freely accessible space of the former Public Tobacco Factory. Dream On features 18 large-scale installations by artists John Bock, Helen Chadwick, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Martha Dimitropoulou, Peter Fischli & David Weiss, David Hammons, Thomas Hirschhorn, Damien Hirst, Michael Landy, Maria Loizidou, Paul McCarthy, Annette Messager, Maro Michalakakos, Wangechi Mutu, Paul Pfeiffer, Alexandros Psychoulis, Matthew Ritchie and Anna-Maria Samara.

Iannis Xenakis exhibition catalogue

Catalogue design and production for two exhibitions launched in 2023 by The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (EMST). Sonic Odysseys was the first major comprehensive exhibition in Greece of Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001), the avant-garde composer, music theorist, architect, engineer, mathematician, and one of the most progressive creative thinkers and cultural practitioners of the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition was co-produced by EMST and the Philharmonie de Paris. The museum presented, in parallel, a second exhibition entitled Iannis Xenakis and Greece, which explores the controversial relationship with his ancestral homeland.

ALLSPICE | Michael Rakowitz & Ancient Cultures

The exhibition catalogue for ALLSPICE | Michael Rakowitz & Ancient Cultures was designed to embody the exhibition’s dialogue between contemporary practice and ancient artifacts. The design concept emphasized clarity and balance, combining typography, layout, and image sequencing that reflect the interplay of Rakowitz’s works with the selected cultural objects. Alongside the design, the coordination of printing production ensured image quality, color accuracy, material selection, and finishing details were carefully managed to achieve both scholarly rigor and aesthetic refinement. The resulting publication extends the exhibition?s impact, serving as both a lasting reference and a finely crafted object in its own right.

IFI is a lighting design studio with a team of designers, engineers and architects committed to the approach that lighting design is an integral part of the architectural vision. IFI is a highly regarded lighting design firm with a broad portfolio of projects in different scales, realized both in Greece and abroad.

The Palace at 4 A.M. Catalogue

Catalogue design and production for The Palace at 4 a.m., a NEON collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades. The contemporary art exhibition is inspired by the collection of the Archaeological Museum of Mykonos. The Palace at 4 a.m. features a global roster of thirteen artists. Their work is juxtaposed with the museum’s collection and additional treasures selected by the archaeologists of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades. Giving contemporary form to ancient materials and symbols, the artists reveal commonalities that span millennia, cultures and continents.

ANTONY GORMLEY Sight Catalogue

Catalogue production and the Greek edition’s layout for SIGHT, an unprecedented site-specific NEON exhibition by British artist Antony Gormley, on the archaeological site and the Museum of Delos Island. Gormley repopulates the island of Delos with iron “bodyforms”, restoring a human presence and creating a journey of potential encounters. He has installed 29 sculptures made during the last twenty years, including 5 new works specially commissioned by NEON, both at the periphery and integrated amongst Delos’s archaeological sites. SIGHT was curated by Iwona Blazwick OBE, Director, Whitechapel Gallery and Elina Kountouri, Director, NEON.

Constellations in the dirt

Catalogue design and production for the group exhibition of contemporary art Constellations in the dirt, on the site of the Kouphonisi Archaeological Collection. NEON collaborated with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades for this exhibition which includes visual works, sculptures, small installations and soundworks from the following nine artists: Hypercomf, Thalia Ioannidou, Konstantinos Kotsis, Theo Michael, Malvina Panagiotidi, Vasilis Papageorgiou, Kostas Roussakis, Kostas Sahpazis and Vangelis Vlahos.
