A Sea of Knowledge

The project From the Aegean to the Ionian: A Sea of Knowledge, initiated by the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation, highlights and disseminates Greece’s insular and maritime culture through digitization and innovative cultural practices. To extend access to the Foundation’s rare editions and artifacts, a suite of interactive digital applications was designed as part of the project. These applications integrate cutting-edge technologies and immersive storytelling techniques, enabling users to explore digitized material in engaging and meaningful ways. Virtual exhibitions, educational tools, and interactive narratives provide multiple entry points for audiences ranging from researchers to the general public. The design concept emphasized clarity, usability, and experiential depth, transforming archival collections into a living digital resource that bridges history, culture, and technology, and reinforces the Foundation?s mission to safeguard and share Greek maritime heritage.
